We are students of UC Berkeley aiming to foster interest and appreciation in science and engineering in young students.
BEAM is available primarily as a weekly, after-school program that invites children of all backgrounds to participate in our creative and team-oriented atmosphere.
We welcome and train college students of ALL MAJORS to be effective mentors, role models, and leaders in their community. We also welcome teachers of Bay Area schools to reach out to us and bring in a new slice of science exploration.
We design our own lessons to be visually and kinesthetically engaging to stimulate our students' creativity, critical thinking, and curiosity.
Our hundred-strong organization is comprised of UC Berkeley students of all disciplines and backgrounds. We travel weekly to elementary, middle, and high schools in the East Bay. Learn more about which schools we are involved with, and how to bring BEAM to a classroom near you.
We champion educational resources for not only the classroom but the community as well. All our lessons are posted online for free use, and strive to foster interest in STEM through outreach events.
